Rudi Bresser

Rudi KF Bresser (* 1948 in Gelnhausen ) is a German economist and professor at the Free University of Berlin .

Live and act

Bresser studied business administration at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and graduated with a diploma in 1974. In 1976 he also obtained a diploma in business education in Frankfurt am Main. In 1979 the doctorate to Dr. rer. pole. in Frankfurt. From 1980 to 1981, Bresser was Assistant Professor of Management at New York University . From 1981 to 1990 he worked as an assistant or associate professor of management at Baruch College, City University of New York . Bresser has been Professor of Business Administration, in particular Strategic Management, at the Free University of Berlin since 1990 (retired in 2015). His current research interests particularly concern the topic of 'academic governance'.

Bresser was visiting professor at the University of South Florida and the Stern School of Business at New York University .

From 2007 to 2010, Bresser was the first professor at a German university to be Associate Editor of the 'Strategic Management Journal'.

The Handelsblatt counts Bresser from published A Journal publications for the top 30 business economists in Germany.
