Rudolf Virchow Prize

The Rudolf Virchow Prize has been awarded annually since 2000, most recently every two years, by the Berlin Society for Anthropology, Ethnology and Prehistory for excellent master's and diploma theses from Berlin and Brandenburg universities related to the subjects represented in the society. The prize is endowed with 500 euros ; the theses can be proposed by the supervising university professors and each member of the society until the end of September.

The award commemorates the German doctor, archaeologist and politician Rudolf Virchow (1821–1902), who at the end of the 19th century played a key role in the development of the fields of anthropology , ethnology (ethnology) and archeology .
