Rudolf Ausleger

Rudolf boom (* 1897 in Weissenfels , † 1974 in Berlin ) was a German painter of Expressionism and art teacher.

Live and act

As a soldier in the First World War, Rudolf Ausleger met the future painters of the November group Georg Tappert , Karl Jakob Hirsch and Lothar Homeyer during an inspection of the air force in Berlin .

He first attended the Reimann School , later he studied at the State Art School with Tappert and Bernhard Hasler . As a member of the November group , Ausleger, who from 1921 worked as a teacher at Berlin secondary schools and the Reimann School, was involved in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad.

Otto and Rudolf Möller , Arthur Segal , Karl Jakob Hirsch and Lothar Homeyer belonged to his circle of friends . In the 1920s he oriented himself towards Synthetic Cubism .

National Socialism

He had little opportunity to exhibit during the Third Reich , and much of his work was destroyed in the bombing of World War II. His works were also classified as "degenerate" by the National Socialists.

From 1949 to 1967, Ausleger was a lecturer at the University of Education in Berlin. Kunst am Wedding showed works by Ausleger in 1974. In 1984 the Nierendorf Gallery in Berlin showed works by Ausleger and other 20th century artists.
