Rudolf Blankenburger

Rudolf Blankenburger (born November 18, 1911 in Dresden , † after 1979) was a German politician ( SPD / SED ), consumer cooperative and foreign trade official. He was a member of the People's Chamber and head of the GDR chamber representation in the Netherlands .

Life

Blankenburger, a commercial employee by profession, became a member of the SAJ in 1929 and a member of the SPD in 1930. Between 1933 and 1935 he did illegal anti-fascist work and was temporarily imprisoned.

After the Second World War , Blankenburger became a member of the SPD again, then in 1946 a member of the SED. From 1948 he was a functionary of the consumer cooperatives in Saxony , from 1949 to 1951 he was a member of the board of the State Association of Saxony of Consumer Cooperatives (KG). From 1952 to 1957 Blankenburger was an employee as well as a member of the board of the Association of German Consumer Cooperatives and at times also editor-in-chief of the association organ Der Konsumgenossenschaftler .

From 1950 to 1958 Blankenburger was - as a member of the VdgB / KG parliamentary group - a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the National Council of the National Front .

In 1958 he joined the diplomatic service of the GDR and was head of the main trade relations department of the Chamber for Foreign Trade until 1962 . From 1963 to 1972 he headed the representation of the Chamber for Foreign Trade of the GDR in the Netherlands as a trade councilor, based in Amsterdam . Then he was head of the trade policy department at the embassy of the GDR in Norway and in 1979 director of the GDR exhibition at the 75th Paris trade fair.
