The Rudolf GmbH is a German company, the textile auxiliary manufactures and specialty chemicals.
history
In 1922, the chemical engineer Reinhold Rudolf founded the chemical factory Rudolf Chemie & Co. in Warnsdorf in northern Bohemia to manufacture chemical-technical products, especially aids for the textile industry (THMs). In 1946 the company Rudolf GmbH & Co. KG, chemical factory in Geretsried was newly founded.
Textile chemistry
Rudolf Chemie's business areas are divided into textile chemicals and specialty chemicals. The specialty chemicals division develops, produces and sells raw material concentrates and raw material formulations for the after care (e.g. for aerosol applications ), leather, automotive , nonwoven , paper, etc. sectors . The products made from raw materials are used both in the industrial sector and in care products used by private end users. The Textile Chemicals division is divided into process chemicals (e.g. denim ) and effect chemicals (finishing) , depending on the applications in the textile production chain.
In the Process Chemicals division, Rudolf Chemie manufactures products for the pretreatment, dyeing and finishing (finishing and coating) of textiles. The textile processing industry needs improved properties of the goods at the beginning of the finishing process. In the pretreatment the textile material is freed from all interfering substances ( sizing , fats, oils, waxes, accompanying mineral substances, preservatives) by desizing , boiling, bleaching and washing. This creates a white and clean textile that is ready to be refined in the dyeing and finish according to consumer wishes. Furthermore, the structure of the fibers (e.g. through mercerization , alkalization ) is changed in such a way that they develop improved and even new properties (e.g. polyester , polyamide, etc.).
The Effect Chemicals division develops, produces and markets the additional functions of textiles (flame retardancy, hydrophobicity, etc.).
