Rudolf Demme (doctor)

Hermann Rudolf Demme (born June 12, 1836 in Bern ; † June 16, 1892 there ) was a Swiss doctor .

Life

Demme was the son of Hermann Askan Demme and Julia Anna Hünerwadel, studied medicine in Bern and Vienna , where he in 1859 when Josef Hyrtl Dr. med. received his doctorate. In 1861 he became a lecturer in paediatrics and physical diagnostics, from 1862 to 1892 he was director of the Jenner Children 's Hospital , in 1874 honorary professor, in 1877 associate professor, in 1887 professor of paediatrics at the University of Bern and from 1887 also for pharmacology . Demme was an internationally respected pediatrician and author of numerous medical publications.
