Rudolf Dorschel

Rudolf Dorschel (born May 30, 1898 in Barchfeld ; † January 5, 1980 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Life

Dorschel was an Evangelical Lutheran denomination. After studying in Halle and Göttingen , he received his doctorate in 1922 at the University of Göttingen on "Concept and cases of direct possession ". In 1927 he was appointed district judge, and in 1932 district judge. A year later he married Gertrud Bammel. In 1935 he rose to the higher regional judge in Celle . Ulrich Vultejus says about his work in the Third Reich :

“ Another neighbor in the Trift 16 house, on the upper floor of which my father's legal office was housed, was the higher regional judge Dr. Rudolf Dorschel. He was at the same time our NSDAP block warden and occasionally made himself unpleasant by complaining about our undoubtedly inadequate blackout. A few days before the English troops marched in, he asked my father to remove the sign with the imperial eagle and swastika that indicated the notary's office. My father's proud reply that they (meant Dorschel and his party friends) had forced him to mark his notary's office with the swastika and that this should remain visible did not reassure him. When the English marched in, the shield was gone. "

From 1956 until his retirement in 1966 he was a judge at the Federal Court of Justice .
