Bueng Kan ( Thai บึงกาฬ ) is a small town ( เทศบาล ตำบล บึงกาฬ ) in the Thai province of Bueng Kan . It is the capital of Mueang Bueng Kan County ( Amphoe ) and the province.
geography
The province of Bueng Kan is located in the northeast region of Thailand , the Isan . The city of Bueng Kan is located on the west bank of the Mekong , opposite the Laos town of Pakxan in the Bolikhamsai province . The provincial capital is located at the intersection of National Road 212 and National Road 222 . The distance to the state capital Bangkok is almost 750 kilometers.
The province's most important water resource is the Mekong.
In 2010, the small town of Bueng Kan had 4,734 residents.
economy
The economy is based on the cultivation of para rubber and tourism .
