Rudolf Höll (geologist)

Rudolf Höll (born April 14, 1936 in Stolzenhain ) is a German geologist .

Life

Höll first studied economics (graduate economist) Eichstätt and then geology (graduate geologist) in Munich. In 1966 he was awarded a PhD in the genesis and age of occurrences of the Sb-W-Hg formation in Turkey and on Chios / Greece in Munich. rer. nat. PhD .

Rudolf Höll was a professor at the Institute for General and Applied Geology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (LMU) . Höll has been retired under the Bavarian civil service law since 2001, but is still very much connected to the geology of his Grünwald place of residence .

Since 1956 he was a member of the KDStV Aureata Eichstätt-Munich in the CV and in 1958 co-founder of the KDStV Alcimonia Eichstätt in the CV.

The main research areas of Höll are the deposits of mineral raw materials, in particular tungsten and gold deposits . In the field of geological mapping and regional geology, he researches the Variscan and Pre-Variscan magmatism in the Eastern Alps.
