Rudolf H. Moos

Rudolf Hugo Moos (born September 10, 1934 in Berlin ) is an American psychologist .

Life

Rudolf H. Moos was a son of Heinrich (Henry) Moos (1901–1976) and Hertha Ehrlich (born 1905), his grandfather Rudolf Moos was a founder of the Salamander shoe factory . In 1939 he emigrated with his parents to Great Britain and from there to the USA in 1940. Moos studied psychology at the University of California, Berkeley (BA, 1956) and received his doctorate there in 1960. Moos married the programmer Bernice Schradsky in 1963 and they have two children.

Moos became an assistant professor of psychiatry at Stanford University in 1962 and was appointed professor there in 1972. Moos devoted himself in particular to research into the results of various psychiatric treatment methods.
