history
The history of the company goes back to the 19th century, when the transport was still organized by horse- drawn carts . The founder Rudolf Hartmann became so successful in the course of his career that he was appointed kuk Hof forwarder . The founding date is the year 1880. Hartmann was able to establish himself as a result of the lively change of officials and the journeys of nobles between the capital and the countries. He moved from Vienna to Meran and organized moves.
In the course of industrialization and the economic boom, the exchange of goods for the goods to be transported became more and more complex and organizationally more complex. The goods were brought from the surrounding valleys and towns by horse-drawn carts to the train station, where they were reloaded onto the rails. For this purpose, the first Merano train station was built on the private property of the Hartmann family. Even though the rail has been increasingly replaced by trucks over the years , the company continues to specialize in rail transport or combined road-rail transport with its own vehicles.
In March 1999, under the management of the fourth generation of Hartmann, the company moved into new premises at J.-Kravogl-Strasse 10 in Sinich near Merano. The family business is now run by Rudolf and Hugo Hartmann.
