Rudolf Kröning

Rudolf Kröning (born February 18, 1903 in Darmstadt , † March 24, 1971 in Trento ) was a German senior government councilor and SS leader in the Reich Security Main Office (RSHA).

Life

After attending school, Kröning studied law . He completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. jur. from.

In the 1930s, Kröning became a member of the SS (SS no. 357.092). From 1938 he worked in the SS main office. In 1940 he moved to the Reich Security Main Office , where he took over Section II B 4 (fundamental issues for foreign police and border security) in Department B in Office Group II. In this capacity he was responsible for handling the affairs of foreigners living in the German Reich . He was also significantly involved in the civilian exchange campaigns during the war, which also included so-called " exchange Jews ". Kröning, who achieved the rank of senior government councilor as a civil servant , cooperated with Adolf Eichmann . On June 21, 1944, Kröning was promoted to SS-Sturmbannführer.

After the end of the Second World War , Kröning was later President of the Senate at the Regional Social Court in Mainz . A case against him for involvement of the RSHA in the final solution and admissions to concentration camps for the purpose of killing was dropped in 1966.
