Rudolf Kremlička (born June 19, 1886 in Kolín , † June 3, 1932 in Prague ) was a Czech painter and graphic artist .

Life

Kremlička studied from 1907 to 1912 at the Prague Academy of Fine Arts with professors Vlaho Bukovac and Bohumír Roubalík, who had no influence on his later artistic direction. On the other hand, he turned to Maximilián Pirner and the style of Hanuš Schwaiger and also dealt with old Dutch painting.

In Prague, Kremlička lived in the Josefov district, at ul. Pařižská, which is reminiscent of an artistically designed bronze plaque.

Works

Washerwomen

His early works such as Girls in White Camisoles (1915) or his series Dancers (1916–1918) are characterized by an impressionistic style. At the end of the 1920s, more and more of his personal touch came to the fore, which went towards neoclassicism . The pictures washerwomen (1919–1923) show his social inspiration, typical of the time after the First World War in Bohemia .

Weekend

Between 1925 and 1932 Kremlička's most important works were created, the focus of which was the nude , such as Women on the Riverside (1925) or Women Bathing (1931). He also painted landscapes such as the port of Duino near Trieste (1927), sailing boats in the port (1928) or rocks and the sea (1930). The best-known work of his commissioned work is the mosaic in the Felix Palace on Wenceslas Square in Prague.
