Rudolf Kuppelmayr
Rudolf Michael Kuppelmayr (* 1843 in Kaufbeuren ; † 1918 in Munich ) was a German painter and art collector .
Rudolf Kuppelmayr was the son of the master builder and art collector Max Kuppelmayr († 1888), co-founder of the Munich Antiquities Association.
Kuppelmayr initially studied eight years with Wilhelm von Kaulbach at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and later with August von Kreling at the Art Academy in Nuremberg . Study trips then took him to Belgium , France and Italy . From 1872 Kuppelmayr lived in Munich. Initially, Kuppelmayr painted history pictures . There are numerous portraits in his late work .
Rudolf Kuppelmayr inherited his father's collection and expanded it. The collection was auctioned in 1919.
