Rudolf Leiprecht

Rudolf Leiprecht (* 1955 in Bad Waldsee ) is a German social worker and university professor .

Life

Leiprecht grew up bilingual (Dutch / German) in Rotterdam and Stuttgart . He studied social education at the University of Tübingen . After graduating, Leiprecht worked as a social worker in home education , youth work, family support and debt counseling . In 1990 he received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen with an empirical study on the subject of racism among young people in Germany .

Scientific work

From 1990 to 1994 Leiprecht worked as a visiting examiner at the Free University (Vrije Universiteit) in Amsterdam. Then he founded the research office 'Stichting BeeldVorming & Onderzoek Internationaal'.

He had lectureships in Cologne, Kassel, Hamburg, Tübingen and Münster. Furthermore, he dealt with concept development, organization and management of model projects for international youth encounters and measures for intercultural teacher training. He also produced several films on preventing racism and on intercultural education, socio-educational youth research and international youth work.

In 2001, Leiprecht completed his habilitation at the educational science faculty of the University of Cologne with a comparative study on racism among young people in Germany and the Netherlands .

From October 2001 Rudolf Leiprecht has been working at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg as a private lecturer and has been a professor for social education with a focus on diversity education since 2006 . From 2003 to 2005 he was dean of studies, then BA-MA officer and capacity officer of the Faculty of Education. From 2005 to 2009 he was director of the Interdisciplinary Center for Education and Communication in Migration Processes. He was also director of the Institute for Pedagogy from 2009 to 2011 and deputy director of the institute since 2011.

He is a member of the Migration Council .
