Rudolf Müller (born February 8, 1864 in Münchhof near Karlsbad , † March 22, 1955 in Vienna ) was an Austrian politician ( SDAP ). Müller was a member of the Reichsrat, a member of the Provisional and Constituent National Assemblies and a member of the Federal Council.

Life

Müller attended elementary school and learned to be a baker. During his traveling years he initially traveled as a craftsman through several countries in Europe and then worked for the Austro-Hungarian State Railway Company and the Vienna-Aspang Railway . After 1918, Müller worked as an administrator in the German-Austrian railway organization and was director of the railway workers' home in Vienna. He was a member of the Labor Council at the Ministry of Commerce and head of the trade union commission.

Müller was involved in the union and helped found the railway workers' union in 1890. In 1893 he founded the trade union magazine "Der Eisenbahner", for which he also worked as an editor. He was arrested several times for political reasons.

Müller was elected to the House of Representatives of the Reichsrat in Lower Austria on July 16, 1908 , to which he was appointed until the end of the XI. Member of the legislative period on March 20, 1911. He was a member of the "Club of German Social Democrats". In the autumn of 1912 he got in the XII. Legislative period, XXI. Session, as the successor of a deceased member of the Reichsrat again.

This was postponed in spring 1914 at the instigation of the Stürgkh Ministry and convened again by Emperor Karl I in 1917. Most recently it belonged to the House of Representatives in the XXII. Session of the XII. Legislative period from May 30, 1917 to November 12, 1918.

After the First World War, Müller represented the Social Democratic Labor Party from October 21, 1918 to February 16, 1919 in the Provisional National Assembly for German-Austria and was then elected to the Constituent National Assembly, of which he was a member from March 4 to May 31, 1919.

Müller was sworn in on December 1, 1920 as the Federal Councilor elected by the Vienna Landtag , which had existed since November 10, 1920, and was a member of the second chamber of the Republican Parliament until May 24, 1931.

In Lower Austria, the Vienna belonged to 10 November 1920, he was first November 5, 1918 to May 4, 1919 Member of the Provisional State Parliament and then on 20 May 1919 to the 11 May 1921 during the separation phase of Vienna from Lower Austria Member of the state parliament. From November 10, 1920, he was a member of the Vienna Curia and from December 30, 1920, he was a Viennese delegate. In addition, from November 5, 1918 to May 20, 1919, Müller was a member of the Lower Austrian Provincial Committee (Landesrat) and from May 20, 1919 to November 10, 1920 he held the office of Provincial Councilor in the Provincial Government of Sever . His grave is in the Vienna Central Cemetery .
