Rudolf Michl (conductor)

Rudolf Michl (* 1906 in Peiperz ; † March 22, 1990 in Saarbrücken ) was a German pianist and conductor .

Life

Michl studied at the Charles University Law , where he received his doctorate jur. received his doctorate. In addition to his law studies, he also attended musicology events at the university and at the Prague Conservatory .

In 1946 Michl became director of the symphony orchestra of the newly founded radio station Radio Saarbrücken . He led the orchestra for 25 years until his retirement in 1971. His successor was Hans Zender . Michl initiated, among other things, the youth concerts of the later Saarland broadcasting company. His Sunday matinee concerts in the Saarbrücken congress hall were always preceded by introductions to the program.
