Rudolf Ortlepp

Rudolf Ortlepp (born April 20, 1909 in Stutzhaus ; † January 2, 1942 in Obojan ) was a German National Socialist student functionary and student leader of Thuringia .

Life

Ortlepp was the son of a builder. From 1930 he studied theology and later education at the University of Jena . In 1930 he joined the Arminia fraternity in the Burgkeller , which, however, excluded him in 1935 because of anti-corporate statements. Ortlepp was a member of the NSDAP from 1931 and again from 1933 (membership number 2.765.006). He was a member of the SA and became a member of the SS before 1933 . Against the will of his fraternity, he ran for the NSDStB list Germany awake . From February to April 1933 he was the AStA chairman of the University of Jena and from May 1933 to 1934 he was the leader of the student body. In 1934 he became the student leader of Thuringia, and in 1935 head of the main branch in the regional training office of the NSDAP Thuringia. Drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1939 , he died in the Soviet Union in January 1942 . He had been awarded the Iron Cross I and II and the Infantry Assault Badge .
