Stutzhaus is a district of Luisenthal in the Gotha district in Thuringia .

location

Stutzhaus is located at the funnel-shaped Ohra valley entrance to the driveway of federal road 247 and state road 3247 over the northern roof and to cross the Thuringian Forest . The district is about two kilometers north of Luisenthal. The Ohra flows in the valley .

history

In 1557 the beginning of the settlement in the Black Forest office was first mentioned in a document. For forest workers, the settlement on the Ohra was expanded in the 17th century, although it was only slowly settled. There were directed mainly Köhler on the vacant land clearing one. The village of Stutzhaus emerged from a lockable Stutzhaus . It was already used by the Koehler to store the measuring vessels = (support) and other devices. The Stutzhaus was a sturdy, massive forester's house with storage shed for the forest rangers and charcoal burners at the same time. The charcoal was settled with the support towards the sovereign. Hence the name of the district.

In 1665 the following buildings were registered: a Stutzhaus, three cutting mills, an iron hammer and five houses for forest workers. Later a brewery and an annex were added to the Stutzhaus. Twenty water wheels turned on the Ohra . There were ten sawmills and two grinding mills . In the last few decades, tourism and spa stays have been decisive economic factors.

On July 1, 1950, the neighboring Black Forest was incorporated. On March 1, 1951, the name of the community was changed to Luisenthal .
