Rudolf Sandner (born October 25, 1958 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Rudolf Sandner played in the 1979/80 season with FC Augsburg in the third-tier Bayernliga. At the end of the season, Sandner and his teammates were in first place, so the championship and promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga was celebrated. In the subsequent German amateur championship , Sandner and FCA reached the final, which was lost 2-1 to VfB Stuttgart Amateure . In the following second division season 1980/81 the immediate relegation followed, as table eighteenth in the southern season. Sandner was used in 31 games and scored one goal. He stayed in the second division through his move to Kickers Offenbach . Sandner was part of the regular staff in his first season, at the end of the 1981/82 season , it was the first year of the single-track 2. Bundesliga, Sandner was third with the Kickers behind Schalke 04 and Hertha BSC . This was followed by two relegation games against the 16th of the Bundesliga Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Both games were lost (0: 1 and 2: 1), Sandner played over ninety minutes in the second leg, so the promotion was just missed.
