Rudolf Steck
Johann Rudolf Julius Steck (born January 18, 1842 in Bern ; † November 30, 1924 there ) was a Swiss Reformed theologian and writer .
Rudolf Steck came from the patrician branch of the Steck family in Bern and was a grandson of Johann Rudolf Steck (1772–1805), who was General Secretary of the Helvetic Republic in 1798/1799 . Steck was pastor of the Reformed Community of Dresden from 1867 to 1881 . From 1881 to 1921 he was professor of the New Testament at the University of Bern , from 1893 also for general religious history , and from 1896 to 1897 its rector .
