Rudolf Strothmann

Rudolf Strothmann (born September 4, 1877 in Lengerich ; † May 15, 1960 in Hamburg ) was a German scholar of Islam . His main focus was on Muslim fringe groups and sects. From 1923 he taught as the successor to Paul Ernst Kahle (1875–1964) in Giessen .

During his studies in 1898 he became a member of the Allemannia auf dem Pflug zu Halle fraternity . In 1939 he was elected a full member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences .
