Rudolf Wenger

Rudolf Wenger (born February 28, 1831 in Bern , † February 15, 1899 in Thun ; resident in Bern) was a Swiss Reformed theologian and pastor from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Rudolf Wenger was a son of Gottlieb Wenger, head of the school, and Sophie Maria Küpfer. In 1858 he married Margaritha Amalia Sophia Furer, daughter of Samuel Rudolf Jakob Furer, pastor. From 1847 to 1853 he studied theology at the Universities of Bern and Halle . Then he was vicar and parish assistant, from 1864 pastor in Eriswil . In 1873 Wenger was appointed head of the Heinrichsbad near Herisau. Shortly before, it had been converted into a Christian-run spa and recreation facility. Under his leadership, the later retirement center Heinrichsbad experienced its first heyday.
