Rudolf Winkler (pianist)
Rudolf Winkler (* 1889 in Bischofsburg , † 1970 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) was a German pianist .
After brief studies in Königsberg (Prussia) and Munich , Winkler was a student at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin . Here he received the Franz Liszt Acknowledgment Medal and other awards. After being seriously wounded in the Battle of Tannenberg , he was a patient at the Königsberg Heinrich Hoeftman Clinic for three years until 1917, where he was operated on eleven times. After that he was a piano teacher at the Königsberg Conservatory and was obliged to give concerts and radio broadcasts (especially in the Königsberg broadcasting station ).
