Rudolf von Knehem

Rudolf von Knehem (* in the 16th century; † March 25, 1557 ) was canon in Münster .

Life

Rudolf von Knehem came from the Westphalian noble family von Knehem , which was mentioned in Bevern in 1276 and owned larger estates in Emsland and Oldenburg. There is no information about his father, his mother was born von Plettenberg . On March 31, 1526 a Canon Roleff van Knehem is documented. As the successor to Gerhard von Plettenberg, Rudolf received the provost office of St. Ludgeri in Münster on August 4, 1535 . He lived with Catherine Brockhus in concubinage and had with her children Christopher and Stineke. Ten years later, Fenna Kemmerling from Billerbeck was his concubine. The Domkameral Rudolf Knehem was born in this cohabitation. In 1550 Rudolf was the owner of the Obedienz Gassel and the archdeaconate Schüttorf . He had another relationship with Katharina Bering, from which the children Jasper and Rolf came. Rudolf remained in his offices until his death.
