Rudrapur is a city with the status of a Municipal Corporation ( Nagar Nigam ) in the Udham Singh Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand . Rudrapur is located in the fertile Terai region . Rudrapur is the seventh most populous city of Uttarakhand. The city is the administrative seat of the district. Since the establishment of SIDCUL (State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand) the city had enjoyed rapid development, along with the growth in literacy and much more employment.

As of the 2011 Indian census (2011 census), Rudrapur had a population of 140,857. With suburbs (so-called outgrowths ) there were 154,554 inhabitants. The gender ratio was 902 women for 1,000 men.
