The Rue Ambroise Paré is a street in the Quartier Saint-Vincent-de-Paul of the 10th arrondissement in Paris .

The Rue Ambroise Paré is behind the Gare du Nord . It starts at number 95 on Rue de Maubeuge and ends on Rue Guy-Patin or Boulevard de Magenta . The entire northern side of the street, 20 meters wide and 210 meters long, is occupied by the Lariboisière hospital .

Name origin

The street, completed in 1855, was named after Ambroise Paré , the doctor of the French kings Henry II , Franz II , Karl IX. and Heinrich III.

history

The road was opened in 1844 on part of the Enclos Saint-Lazare and extended by decree of November 19, 1855.

The uniform development, with six-story houses and alternating facade decorations, has largely been preserved from the time the street was built.
