Name origin
The street bears the name of a former owner of the area on which it is located: M. Picot (presumed 1768-1859) was one of the shareholders of the Société des terrrains de la plaine de Passy .
history
The street with its current name was opened in 1827 on the territory of the former municipality of Passy and was added to the Paris street directory on October 31, 1863.
Originally the street ended in Rue Andréine , which was repealed in favor of Avenue du Bois-de-Boulogne (now Avenue Foch ).
