Rufio is an American pop punk - band from Rancho Cucamonga , California .

history

All the members of the band went to high school together. The band was formed when the original bassist Jon Beere was freshman year high school and the other three members were Scott Seller (vocals, guitar), Mike Jimenez (drums) and Clark Domae (guitar) in senior year. Scott and Clark had known each other since childhood as they grew up together. Scott met bassist Jon Berry and they started playing and recording demos together. After Berry and Scott started recording demos, they asked Mike to play the drums for them. Shortly after the recording of Mike, Clark joined the band. The band got their name from the character Rufio, the leader of the lost boys in the Peter Pan-inspired movie Hook .

Rufio released their debut album Perhaps, I Suppose… in 2001 on The Militia Group label . The second album MCMLXXXV , which was released in June 2003 on Nitro Records , was made with the help of producer Nick Rasculinecz, who has worked with the Foo Fighters and Rancid . The third album The Comfort of Home was released in July 2005.

The band broke up in 2006. The Punk76.com magazine refers to a phone call with the owner of the indie label The Militia Group and announces that Rufio have reunited and are planning a new album for 2009.

On January 14, 2010 the new EP The Loneliest was released with a new line-up, Terry Stirling Jr. on drums and Taylor Albaugh on bass.

On July 27, 2010 the album Anybody Out There was released .
