Ruhrbrücke Kemnader Strasse
The Ruhrbrücke Kemnader Straße is a bridge that crosses the Ruhr from the Stiepel district of Bochum to the Kemnade house in Hattingen .
At the point there was a ford and further downstream there was also a passenger ferry, which operated until 1960. The first bridge was inaugurated on June 18, 1928; it was destroyed by the armed forces on April 11, 1945. The new bridge was inaugurated on May 26, 1950.
Ruhrumflutbrücke (Pleßbachbrücke)
A second bridge structure further south belongs to the bridge. The Ruhrum flood bridge crosses an oxbow lake in twelve arches between Haus Kemnade and the Ruhr Valley Railway at the intersection at Steinenhaus . She crosses the Pleßbach . The current bridge was completed between 1999 and 2002. From the intersection roads lead along the Ruhr to Herbede , through the Hammertal to Sprockhövel and along the Katzenstein to Blankenstein .
