Xihai Prefecture Ruined City
The ruined city of Xihai Prefecture ( Chinese 西海郡故城遗址 , Pinyin Xīhǎi Jun Gucheng yízhǐ ) or Hanzeitliche fortified city of the prefecture Xihai ( 汉西海郡城遗址 , Hàn Xīhǎijùn Chéng yízhǐ ) in the circle Haiyan Autonomous District Haibei the Tibetans in northeast China's Qinghai Province is an archaeological site dating from the Han Dynasty to the Southern and Northern Dynasties .
The site of the fortified city from the time of the Han dynasty extends over a length of 650 meters from east to west and 600 meters from south to north, the preserved wall is 4 m high.
The site has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-212) since 1988 .
Xihai Jun
Xihai Jun or Xihai Prefecture was first founded in the 4th year of the Yuanshi era (元始 四年, 4 AD) during the Han Dynasty .
In the 23rd year of the Zhenguan (贞观) era (649) of the Tang Dynasty , Songtsen Gampo , the king of Tubo (吐蕃) (or Tibet ), was given the title of king of Xihai Jun by the Chinese emperor Tang Gaozong (唐高宗) (西海 郡王) awarded.
