Rupprecht pipe

Rupprecht pipe (* 17th November 1919 in Berlin ; † 20th March 2009 in Ludwigshafen ) was a German linguist , medievalist, Rumänist and linguist.

life and work

Rohr studied Romance Studies, Balkan Studies and Iranian Studies at the Free University of Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1954 under Günter Reichenkron with Acquaformosa. An Albanian colony in Northern Calabria. The point 751 on the factual and linguistic atlas of Italy and southern Switzerland and completed his habilitation in 1961 with The fate of emphasized Latin vowels in the Provincia Lugdunensis Tertia, the later church province of Tours (Berlin 1963). In 1965 he was appointed to what was then the Mannheim Business School and founded the Romance Department of the University of Mannheim at the chair for Romance Linguistics and Medieval Literature . He turned down a call to the University of Siegen (1972). In 1988 he retired, but taught until 2008.

In 1985, Rohr co-founded the Aromanian Union based in Freiburg. He had been an honorary citizen of the Acquaformosa community since 2007 .
