Ruslan Kazakbajew (born May 18, 1967 in Talas region , Kyrgyz SSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan .

Ruslan Kasakbajew initially studied until 1991 at the Polytechnic Institute in the Kyrgyz capital Bishkek . In 2002 he completed a law degree at the Kyrgyz State National University, and in 2004 a further degree at the Diplomatic Academy of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry.

Kazakbayev has worked for the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry since 1995. Initially in the consular administration of the Ministry in Bishkek, from 1996 as Vice Consul in Istanbul . In 1999 Kazakbayev returned to Bishkek. From January to October 2009 he was the first deputy to the Foreign Minister Kadyrbek Sarbajew . After the political upheaval in April 2010 , Kazakbayev was appointed acting foreign minister in the interim government under Rosa Otunbayeva on April 15, 2010 and held the post until September 2012.
