Russel Mwafulirwa (born February 24, 1983 in Zomba ) is a Malawian football player .
Club career
Mwafulirwa began his career with the Silver Strikers in Malawi . In 2001 he moved to Bullets FC before being transferred to the South African club Jomo Cosmos in 2002 . From there he went to Ajax Cape Town in January 2006 . In June 2008 he moved to the Swedish club IFK Norrköping . After an interlude at Jomo Cosmos, he returned to Norrköping in 2012 and played there for the lower class club IK Sleipner . Since 2016 he has been playing for the university club Mzuzu FC in his home country .
International career
Mwafurliwa has played in the position of striker in his country's national team since 2002 and was nominated for the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
