The Russell Sage College ( RSC ) is an American college for women in the historic district of Troy , New York . The RSC offers both freelance and professional courses and is one of the three Sage Colleges .

history

Russell Sage College was founded in Troy in 1916 in collaboration with Eliza Kellas by suffragette Olivia Sage and named after her late husband, the railroad tycoon and politician Russell Sage . The aim of the company was to establish a school of practical arts that would provide women with the means to achieve economic and social independence by preparing for professional careers. Since then, Russell Sage College has been financially supported by the Russell Sage Foundation founded by Olivia Slocum Sage .

General

Russell Sage College has over 800 undergraduate students, over 60 percent of whom will complete their undergraduate degrees and earn a Masters after graduating from RSC . The RSC offers a total of 29 main courses, as well as pre-professional courses in law and medicine . The RSC basketball team plays in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Average tuition fees are USD 28,000.

The US News & World Report ranks Russell Sage College 94th out of 193 rated colleges in the Regional Universities (North) category .
