history
The first issue appeared on June 17, 1996 . At that time the newspaper was still called Russkij Berlin ( Russian Русский Берлин ) and was only distributed in Berlin . It reported on topics from the fields of politics , business , sport and society , and literary works were also published. The newspaper saw itself as a guide and guide for immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
Since 1997, RB is no longer just a regional newspaper, but appears throughout Germany under the name Russkaja Germanija. Russki Berlin continues to exist as a regional edition for Berlin . In 2000, a regional edition for North Rhine-Westphalia , the Rheinskaja Gazeta , was added. In 2002 the Russkaja Germanija - Frankija appeared for the first time for the area of Franconia , which was later extended to all of Bavaria and was titled Russkaja Germanija - Bawarija and the Russkaja Germanija - Gamburg for the city of Hamburg .
Furthermore, a free online version of the newspaper has been available to the public since 1999. Joint projects were also started with the Russian newspapers Argumenty i Fakty and Kommersant ( Kommersant weekly ).
