Rustington is a community and a seaside resort on the English Channel near Littlehampton in the Arun District of West Sussex, England . Despite a population of 12,676 (2001) and a small town character, the place has retained the status of a village due to a vote of the population.
Rustington has a rail connection through Angmering station. In the center some cottages from the 17th and 18th centuries are worth seeing, some of them thatched . The place was the venue for the World Chess Championship in 1952. A city partnership exists with the city of Los Altos (California) and since 2002 with the municipality of Künzell / Germany.
