Ruth Bickelhaupt (born December 23, 1921 in Limbach-Oberfrohna ) is a German actress. She can mainly be seen in productions by her grandson Axel Ranisch .

life and career

Bickelhaupt grew up in Limbach , where her parents ran a hotel.

From 1930 she took ballet lessons. In 1942 she married. In 1967 the family moved to East Berlin , where they worked for the Society for German-Soviet Friendship until they retired in the early 1980s .

She had her first film role at the age of 85; In 2011 her first film lead role followed in the independent film Big Girls, directed by her grandson Axel Ranisch . In March 2018 she was seen in a supporting role in the television film Tatort: ​​Waldlust directed by Ranisch .
