Ruth Frenk

Ruth Frenk (born March 20, 1946 in Rotterdam ) is a song and concert singer with a mezzo-soprano voice .

Ruth Frenk, a native of the Netherlands, is a singing teacher and concert singer (mezzo-soprano).

She studied at the Universities of Amsterdam and Geneva ; in New York she successfully completed her vocal studies at the Manhattan School of Music .

After studying singing, she worked as a song and concert singer, mainly in the USA , Canada and Israel . After the artist, who has lived in Konstanz since 1974 , returned to Europe, she took further singing lessons a. a. with Erika Köth . This was followed by concerts in Switzerland , Germany , Italy and the Netherlands .

Ruth Frenk is particularly interested in the songs of the Jewish people and vocal music from the Theresienstadt concentration camp . These include Jewish composers such as Karel Berman , Hans Krása , Pavel Haas and Viktor Ullmann . She travels as a speaker on the subject of Jewish music.

The artist works internationally as a singing and voice teacher. She has master classes and lectures a. a. given in Salzburg , Israel and Riga . From 2006 to 2013 she was a member of the board of the Federal Association of German Singing Pedagogues and has been chairwoman of the German-Israeli Society since 1992 . V. Arbeitsgemeinschaft Bodensee-Region as well as board member of the Society for Christian-Jewish Cooperation e. V. Constance .

On December 20, 2018, the City of Konstanz awarded Ruth Frenk the City of Konstanz Badge of Honor for her outstanding work and merit.
