The Ruthven Bluff is a large and 735 m high cliff in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the Argentina Range of the Pensacola Mountains , it rises 1.5 km south of Sosa Bluff in the Schneider Hills .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from the years 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Richard W. Ruthven, who in the course of surveying work by the USGS between Visited this cliff in 1965 and 1966.
