Remarks

  1. The film is set in 1941, but not on the war front, as the title suggests. With "fighting fish" ( tōgyo ) rather the heroine of the film (Satomi Aiko) is meant who seeks her way in Tōkyō. Biologically, fighting fish are a species of fish.
  2. ^ First adaptation of the novel of the same name by Kawabata Yasunari . German book title: Schneeland .
