Ryan Mark Donaldson (born May 1, 1991 in Newcastle upon Tyne ) is an English football player who is mainly used in midfield . Until 2012 he was under contract with Newcastle United , where he played from the age of ten.

Career

When participating in the FA Youth Cup 2009 Donaldson was captain of his team, but they failed in the fifth round to Manchester City . Until 2011 he was mainly used in the reserve team of Newcastle United in the attacking midfield. In January 2011 he was awarded to Hartlepool United in the Football League One until the end of the season , in the same year also to the Tranmere Rovers , but only from September to October.

National team

Between 2007 and 2008 Donaldson played fifteen games for England's U-17 national team. From 2009 to 2010 he played ten games for England's U-19 national team. During this period he was able to score a goal.
