Ryan Hollingshead (born April 16, 1991 in Sacramento ) is an American football player who is mostly used in midfield .

Career

Youth and amateur football

During his time at the University of California, Los Angeles , he played for the UCLA Bruins , his university's college team. In 81 games he scored 16 goals and prepared 21 more.

Club career

On January 17, 2013 he was chosen as the first pick in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas . Hollingshead turned down the offer and decided to go to Haiti to do some charity work there.

On December 9th, he signed a contract with FC Dallas . Hollingshead made his competitive debut in the MLS on May 31, 2014 in the 2-1 defeat at the San José Earthquakes . He scored his first goal for Dallas on March 21, 2015 against the Philadelphia Union .
