Ryan Lee Stiles (born April 22, 1959 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American actor and comedian .

life and career

Ryan Stiles grew up in Seattle and Vancouver as the youngest of five children . At 17 he left school and worked in his father's company. He also appeared as a stand-up comedian in Vancouver. In 1986 he became a member of the comedy ensemble The Second City , which performs improvised pieces.

In 1989 he became a member of the ensemble of the television comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway? . In 1995 he was hired by Drew Carey for his sitcom Drew Carey Show . With this series he made his final breakthrough. In 1998 the British version of Whose Line Is It Anyway? finished and produced an American version. Drew Carey hosted the show, Stiles was seen as a regular member and acted as a producer. In 2002 he was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the show .

From 2004 to 2015, Stiles was a regular on the sitcom Two and a Half Men as Dr. See Herb Melnick.

Stiles was in a dual role in the movie Hot Shots! - The mother of all films and the sequel Hot Shots! The second attempt to see. He was also seen in various commercials and works as a voice actor.
