The Jezioro Rydzówka ( German Rehsauer See ) is a lake in northern Poland in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The lake has an area of 527.8 hectares and is up to 16.7 meters deep. The five islands of the lake are protected landscape areas .
The Rydzówka belongs to the municipalities of Węgorzewo and Srokowo . On the western shore of the lake, the village is Rydzówka (Rehsau) . The villages of Leśniewo (Fürstenau) in the southwest, Różewiec (Rosenstein) in the northeast, and Kaczory (Fürstenwalde) in the southeast are also located near the lake . There is a campsite on the northern bank. Provincial road 650 runs south of Jezioro Rydzówka .
The unfinished Masurian Canal , which was supposed to connect the Masurian Lake District with the Baltic Sea, runs through the lake . The Sandhof lock (Śluza Piaski in Polish) north of the canal is the only completed lock on the canal that regulates the water level of Jezioro Rydzówka. The river Rawda (German Rafda ) rises on the northwestern bank of the lake and is the only tributary that feeds the Jezioro Oświn ( German Nordenburg Lake ) further north . Since the latter is at great risk of silting up, the Sandhof lock makes an important contribution to preserving the water.
