Rydzówka ( German Rehsau ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural community Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).
Geographical location
Rydzówka is located on the west bank of the Rehsauer See ( Jezioro Rydzówka in Polish ) in the north of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) is 12 kilometers to the south-east.
history
The place called Resau was founded as early as 1404 . In subsequent years, probably Rösau , Rydzöwko (1782), Reesau called (after 1785), the village in May 1874 in the newly built was District Engelstein ( Polish Węgielsztyn ) incorporated, which until 1945 the district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province East Prussia belonged.
In the municipality of Rehsau with the villages of Großes Werder (Ostrów Wielki in Polish), Karlswalde (Karłowo) and Sandhof (Rydzówka Mała) and - from September 30, 1928 - also Rosenstein (Różewiec), 229 inhabitants were registered in 1910. Their number rose to 314 by 1925, was already 353 in 1933 and was 334 in 1939.
In 1945 Rehsau came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Rydzówka". Today the village is assigned to the Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) Karłowo (Karlswalde) and represents a place in the network of the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Rehsau was parish in the Evangelical Church of Engelstein in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic parish Zum Guten Hirten in Angerburg in the Diocese of Warmia .
Since 1945, the Catholic population of Rydzówka has belonged to the parish in Srokowo in the Archdiocese of Warmia of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland . The Protestant church members are assigned to the parish in Węgorzewo , a branch parish of the parish in Giżycko (Lötzen) in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
The old Rehsauer cemetery ( Cmentarz in Polish ) has been preserved from the time before 1945, although it is no longer maintained, but some grave sites can still be found there.

Rydzówka is conveniently located three kilometers north of the Polish voivodship road DW 650 , and can be reached from there via the junction in Leśniewo (Fürstenau) . There is no train connection.
