Zacisz ( German  southern town ) is a small settlement in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the urban and rural municipality of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Geographical location

Zacisz is located in the former Schülz forest of the Steinorter forest in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship - right on the border with the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ). To the district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) it is 13 kilometers in a north-easterly direction.

history

The founding date of the former Südort forestry department is March 28, 1874. In the following years a small forester's house settlement was established here , which was a residential area of ​​the Stawisken manor district (1938 to 1945: Teichen, Polish : Stawiska ), from 1928 the rural community of Steinort (Polish: Sztynort). In 1905 there were only three residents in one house.

The small settlement has belonged to Poland since 1945 and bears the Polish name "Zacisz". It is a village in the network of the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo in the powiat Węgorzewski , before 1998 part of the Suwałki Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship .
