The powiat Węgorzewski is a powiat (district) in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The powiat has an area of ​​693.4 km², on which about 22,800 inhabitants live.

The powiat Węgorzewski was established on January 1, 2002 and includes the northernmost three communities of the then powiat Giżycki . The area is not identical to the former district of Angerburg .

Communities

The powiat comprises three municipalities, one of which is an urban-and-rural municipality :

and two rural communities:

  • Budry (Buddern) with 2822 inhabitants and
  • Pozezdrze (possessers) with 3257 inhabitants.
