Powiat Olsztyński is a powiat (district) in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . The powiat has an area of ​​2840.3 km², on which about 126,300 inhabitants live. The seat is in Olsztyn (Allenstein) , which is not part of the Powiat, but is enclosed by it as an independent city.

Today's Powiat Olsztyński is much larger than the former Allenstein district , it also includes parts of the former Heilsberg , Osterode and Rössel districts .
