Kamionek Wielki ( German  brickworks Steinort ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , which belongs to the urban and rural municipality Węgorzewo (Angerburg) in the powiat Węgorzewski ( Angerburg district ).

Geographical location

Kamionek Wielki is located west of the Mauersee ( Polish Jezioro Mamry ) in the northeast of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The district town of Węgorzewo (Angerburg) is ten kilometers to the northeast.

history

The former brickyard Steinort called village was created as a living space within the Gutsbezirks small Steinort ( Polish Sztynort Mały ) and thus from 1874 in the District Steinort (Sztynort), which until 1945 the district Angerburg in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged.

On October 17, 1928, Klein Steinort merged with Groß Steinort (Sztynort), Stawisken (1938 to 1945 Teichen, Stawiska in Polish) and Stobben (Pniewo) to form the new rural community Steinort (Sztynort), and the Steinort brickworks became a residential area of ​​this new community .

Religions

Before 1945, the population of the Steinort brickworks was predominantly of Protestant denomination and thus parish into the Church of Rosengarten ( Radzieje in Polish ) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
